Vanguard’s Voo set to surpass Spy as the world’s largest ETF after record January -Inflow -Ishares Bitcoin Trust (Nasdaq: Ibit), Ishares Core S&P 500 ETF (Arca: IVV)

A tectonic change is ongoing in the global ETF ranking, as Vanguard S&P 500 ETF Voo is about to outdo state street SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust SPY in assets under management.

This unmatched displacement, which can be realized in the coming weeks, or even days, marks a crucial moment in the trillion Dollar ETF industry.

Voo has registered an astonishing $ 20.5 billion in inflows month to date up to and including January 29, its largest influx of a month on record, according to data from etfdb.com.

This increase in investors’ demand has expanded Voo’s row of consecutive monthly inflows to 26, a rare performance that emphasizes growing confidence in the fund.

In sharp contrast, Voo’s two main competitors have struggled to attract capital in January.

Spy has suffered from outflows of $ 10.68 billion, while Blackrock’s Ishares Core S&P 500 ETF IVV has lost $ 2.1 billion.

As a result, Voos Aum has increased to $ 617 billion and closed on SPY’s $ 630 billion. If the current trends remain, Voo may soon require the title of the world’s largest ETF.

Why is voo better than spy?

An important factor that drives VOO’s ascent is its ultra -low cost rate of 0.03%, which significantly underestimates SPY’s 0.09%.

Cost-conscious investors have increasingly benefited the cheaper Vanguard offer, which has led to a long-term capital relief.

Since Voo’s start in September 2010, its total return performance narrowly exceeded both spy and IVV.

Voo has won 446% during this period, compared to IVV’s 443% and Spy’s 442%, which shows a small but crucial advantage.
