Nottingham Forest Podcast: shut up and show more football at the end of the transfer window

BBC Radio Nottingham’s Colin Fray expects a quiet ending to the transfer window and according to Nuno Espirito Santo, all players who join must be “special.”

Colin talked about the latest Shut Up and Show More Football Podcast and said Forest Boss would be satisfied if there are no new arrivals on City Ground:

“Nuno seems very pleased that it is very quiet – he has talked the whole window that the priority is to keep his group together and to ward off bids. The new contracts have helped to do so in January.

“He is really publicly very calm about the situation. He wants it, as all managers do at this stage. He is ready for the end of the window – and he does not seem publicly desperate to add the squad.”

“They must be” special “players because they have to be the right character in order not to upset what has been a very good dressing room.

“They need better than the levels that already exist so that they can drive the players. It will be expensive then and there are potential PSR (profit and sustainability rule) questions in the future. I think that is why the window has been very quiet.

“I don’t expect anything like the normal flurry towards the end of the window – but I am aware that we have said it before … and it has been transformed into anything but.”
