Does three Holloman have a similar arch as the former MSU star?

Ever since Tom Izzo entered the Junior Guard Tre Holloman in Michigan State Startstood, the Spartans have not lost a game.

Holloman’s persistent defense and points ability has helped MSU rise to the top of college basketball. There have been a few seasons in East Lansing, but by 2025 has been a return to the MSU basketball that we have become accustomed to.

Holloman is in its third year as Spartan and often makes comparisons with a previous MSU -sized. It is because of more than just No. 5 and the headband, we promise.

Cassius Winston spent four legendary seasons in East Lansing, took MSU to the Final Four 2019 and led the Spartans as the hottest team in the country in 2020 before Covid-19 closed the NCAA tournament.

Winston will always be loved among spartan fans, and it is unfair to all players who come after him. But Holloman has a career arch similar to what Winston had when he was at MSU.

Winston did not break out until his second season, when he joined almost half of his three points. He shot 38 percent from 3 season before at lower volume.

Although it was not to the same extent, Holloman’s effectiveness improved in pushing three balls tremendously. He came to East Lansing without a reliable jump shot and shot 42 percent beyond the bow during his second season.

Now the Spartans are striving to win the Big Ten for the first time since Winston’s last year. Holloman has been an important part of it.

When Izzo turned to Winston back in 2017, the Spartans jumped back from a bad season before and had one of the best records in college basketball.

Starting to see the trend?

The main argument against Holloman after a Winston-like bow is that Holloman is not the main distributor and the score alternative that Winston was. Jeremy fears Jr. Driver the show on points guard, while Jaden Akins is the team’s leading goal scorer (but really the Spartans spread the point).

It is not a one-to-one comparison. Apparently Holloman will not reach the heights that Winston did on MSU.

But no one will think about whether the team takes home Izzo’s other national championship.
