Local high school students participate in practical simulation

Rochester, NY-U-School of Medicine hosted a practical surgery simulation for local high school students.

Twenty to thirty students from underrepresented backgrounds practiced simulated joint replacement, bone fracture repair and more taught by orthopedic surgeons from URMC’s orthopedics department.

The University of Rochester’s Science and Technology Entry Program (Step) works to care for talent and diversity within the healthcare profession. The state -funded program provides high school students with practical learning experiences together with doctors, researchers and teachers.
