Delhi you pay RS 2300 to see Apollo Senior Doctor – Delhi you pay Rs 2300 to consult Apollo Senior Doctor Gets Assistant instead

A Delhi-based man who paid SEK 2,300 for consultation with an older doctor at Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar, was left frustrated after participating by the medical assistant instead. He shared his experience on social media and called it “completely disgusting.”

In a post on X, Gaånder Yadav said that he booked a time that expects direct consultation with the senior doctor and was instead contacted by an assistant who discussed his case for 10-15 minutes.

“Paid RS 2300 consultation fees on Apollo Hospital, Sarita Vihar, for consultation with an older doctor. An assistant came and discussed the case for 10-15 minutes,” Yadav said.

The senior doctor eventually arrived but only talked to the assistant before leaving and leaving Yadav questioned the entire process.

“The doctor came later. Discussed things with his assistant. At the same time, his assistant suggested what he would do or what not. Where is the expertise/suggestion/experience from an older doctor?” Yadav said and asked, “What is this behavior?”

Yadav expressed his frustration and said: “Who will inform us that a consultation fee will be charged for a consultation with an assistant and not the senior doctor? We took a previous appointment for consultation with an older doctor.”

Take a look at his post here:

When Yadav’s post gained traction, several users weighed into the situation. Several users defended practice and explained that older doctors often work in this way, but Yadav was not convinced. “I don’t understand why people motivate this. I paid for a higher doctor’s diagnosis, not for an assistant’s learning session,” he said.

He suggested a more transparent system, he suggested, “There should be a separate OPD for assistants to learn and experiment. If a patient pays for a higher doctor, they should get exactly that.”

Yadav ended by expressing his disappointment: “I expected real efforts from an older doctor to recover faster. Instead, I got a redirect conversation.”

This is how users reacted to social media to it:

His experience has hit a chord with multiple users online and discussed whether this is a standard hospital procedure or a practice that must be evaluated.
