Should AFC West Team strive for the former Super Bowl MVP?

Would Los Angeles Ram’s wide recipient Cooper Kupp help Denver Broncos manage a second straight playoffs?

On Monday evening, Super Bowl LVI MVP confirmed that Rams placed him on the trading block. As of Tuesday, Draftkings Sportsbook Denver +600 Odds to be Kupp’s next team (H/T NBC Sports’ Kyle Dvorchak).

“(Rookie QB) Bo Nix was happy last year even though he did not have the most proven corps outside Courtland Sutton,” wrote CBS Sports’ Bryan Deardowho listed Denver as a landing site on Monday. “In Denver, coup would play with a future quarterback and inside (head coach) Sean Payton’s pass-happy crime. Kupp’s ability to play over the middle would certainly help Nix, who plays outside the pocket.”

Nix finished with the league’s sixth most TD pass (29) in 17 regular seasonal starts during the 2024 season but did not drive the ball down in the field much. According to Pro Football ReferenceAuburn/Oregon product was on average 6.7 meters per passport attempt, 31st among 43 eligible QBs.

Perhaps Payton did not trust the team’s inconsistent passports. Denver finished with the league’s sixth most drops (32), Via PFR.

Kupp, 31, led NFL in receptions (145), receiving farms (1,947) and TD captures (16) in 17 games with regular season during the 2021 season. He will probably never do it again, but he is still productive.

In 12 games in regular season during the 2024 season, the previous first team had All-Pro 67 receptions for 710 meters and six TD catches.

Kup’s injuries are a problem. He has missed 18 matches in the last three seasons due to ankle and hamstring problems.

His contract can also be a question for Denver. Spotrac founder Michael Ginnitti shared that Kup’s new team would acquire $ 39.85 million in the next two seasons, including $ 5 million guaranteed.
