French Beginner starts justifying No. 1 choice of hawks

The French teenager Zaccharie Risacher was one of the most unclear No. 1 elections in the NBA draft of history. But since he came back from an adductor tribe, he shows signs of a light NBA future.

Risacher won’t be 20 until the end of the season, but he starts playing as an experienced veteran. Risacher was an average of 21.3 points of just 11.3 field target attempts per match in the three matches on Atlanta’s latest road trip. He shot 65 percent from the field and came to the line for 16 free throw in the three games.

It is the type of efficiency that the hawks can use together with Trae Young, which is a fantastic shooter but not exactly sensible in their choice of shot. Risacher gets more opportunities now that he is healthy, and Jalen Johnson is out for the season, but he plays an impressively controlled game.

The most encouraging part of Risaher’s Game is his improved three -point shooting. He shot well last season for the French basketball team JL Bourg and has a quick edition on his jump shot. But for the first three months of his rookie season, he was well below 30 percent at three. During the last three games he has shot 10-for-17 from depth, which increases his seasonal average to a more respectable 31.1 percent.

These are not fantastic numbers for an NBA player, but they are excellent for a teenager during his first NBA season. By comparison, the Los Angeles Lakers Rookie Dalton Knecht, the 17th overall selection in the 2024 NBA draft, was appreciated in April 2001, while Risacher was born in April 2005.

Risacher may not have been an obvious first choice, but he seems to have an obvious NBA future.
