BBC Apprentice viewers express dismay on ‘Cringe-Worthy’ virtual pop star challenge

Hit BBC show saw the candidates with the task of creating a virtual pop star, who left viewers to feel used embarrassment

The BBC apprenticeship surveys were left spinning after what many called the “worst episode yet” which was broadcast on Thursday (February 6).

In the latest part of the popular BBC Series were seen the candidates arrived in London’s frameless engrossing art experience to discover their new challenge.

They were commissioned to create a virtual pop star, record a track and produce a music video, before they looked up for sponsorship at a launch event. The team that generated most revenue would be explained as the winner.

A group chose a Taylor Swift-Esque character that chases female empowerment and aimed to inspire women over generations. In the meantime, the rival team decided to create a rap artist whose texts celebrated life culture – the idea of ​​working long hours and putting careers above all else.

With their concepts in hand, half of each team went to develop their brand, while the others went to the appreciated Tileyard Studios to record their songs.

Three Lowe, a former competitor from last year’s series, was there to help create a hit, with some hopeful even try to sing the song itself.

But the episode failed to impress fans, which quickly expressed their views on X (earlier Chirp), with a viewer complaining: “This can only be the worst episode of #theapprentice that I have ever seen in my life,” reports The mirror.

Other viewers were left waving at the performances, with one saying: “Almost mocked my tea with that song,” while another was added: “Look at #theapprentice … I don’t think I’ve ever rolled so hard in my life my toes are permanently curled. ”

A third viewer felt for those involved: “Imagine that you have to sit in that boardroom and listen to these songs. I feel sorry for absolutely everyone involved in this task and the crew films it. So much collective embarrassment.”

RAP ACT failed to impress investors, who felt that its strong references to money would promote a large audience.
