Man City makes two bold calls in the UCL squad with Rodri in and new signing omitted

Manchester City has called the bold conversation to include Rodri in his Champions League squad even though his return date was unknown, while one of their January signings was omitted.

Rodri Has been injured since September, when he burst his ACL. At that time, it was suggested that he should miss all season, but he strives to be back before the end of the campaign.

It is reflected in City’s squad message for the next phase of the Champions League, following the transfer window in January.

City Had three spaces to add their European troops – they would have had four if they had dropped Rodri from the first squad, but they chose to hold him in it and highlighted their hopes that he will be back on the back of the season.

Keith Wyness recently stated that he does not think that City is simply hopeful by having Rodri in the squad.

“Let’s see. I don’t think it’s wishful thinking, they wouldn’t make that kind of statement just to cheer him up, he told Football insider.

“Hopefully it may be good news for Rodri. We lack his quality in these games and it would be good if he could make an early return. “

City also had to make another tough decision in the Champions League squad.

They made four January signings: Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Nico Gonzalez, but could only add three of them to their squad.

As such, Reis has been omitted, with the other three who are given a space. Reis has been sitting on the bench for two city games since the signing, but will not yet do so on the pitch.

Marmoush and Khusanov have both started at least one, and there have been a few games played since Gonzalez arrived, but given the age of the city’s current mid -wheeler alternative, he is likely to have a big role to play.

Guardiola has stated to suggest it: “Really important! It is a position where we were weak after the absence from Rodri, ”he said.
