Reporter excluded from the White House event after AP refuses Trump’s Moniker “America Gulf”

The White House blocked a journalist with Associated Press from covering Trump’s signing of a new executive order Tuesday, after the AP refused to refer to the Gulf of Mexico as “American Golf.” AP’s Senior Deputy President and Executive Editor, Julie Pace, said in a statement: “Limiting our access to Oval Office based on the content of AP’s speech not only hinders public access to independent news, it clearly breaks the first amendment . ” AP’s style book is used by journalists and other institutions all over the world. The US geological service has officially adopted “America Gulf” – as well as Apple and Google Maps when sought by users in the United States and caved to Trump’s executive order signed on their first day in the office.
