As a female athlete who endured the consequences of letting men compete in Women’s SportsI am relieved that our next education secretary, Linda McMahon, will protect young women and girls from the dangers of radical gender policy.

I spent my life swimming, competing at the highest and most competitive level. In 2022, I had to compete against a male at the NCAA championship, and, surprisingly, he stole a national title from a hard working, deserving woman. Not only did my teammates and I competed against him, but we also had to share a dressing room with him. No girl or woman at any level should have to face this obvious discrimination.

The Biden-Harris Administration was a colossal and hypocrical embarrassment for this issue and not protected women and girls’ integrity, security and opportunities, while claiming to be the female candidates. In fact, Biden proposed the most radical change to department IX in our history and tried to demand that men be included in women’s sports. Not only is this suggestion antique woman, it is anti-reality. When he was directly asked by ESPN about the justice of the male athlete who competed against us girls in 2022, Biden’s education secretary, Miguel Cardona, had to say: “Athletes who happen to be transgender deserve the same opportunities. … participation in athletics gives all students a Opportunity to learn about themselves, to compete, negotiate with a team and learn skills that will be needed for success in life, outside of college or high school.

Trump Former WWE CEO Linda McMahon to act as educational secretary

The message I received from the then secretary Cardona is that “inclusion” at all costs should be prioritized over both security and justice. Leadership is important. The former education secretary had the opportunity to speak out and implement politics that would protect female athletes like me, but he chose not to. In fact, over the past four years we had no one looking for us from the US Department of Education or anywhere else in Biden administration.

For too long, girls around the country have struggled to participate in sports safely. Many have been told that they cannot participate if they are not willing to compete with and against men. In Vermont, an entire team was banned from competing for the rest of the season after the coach lost a game where the opposite team had a male on the other side of the volleyball net because of security problems. As clarified on November 5, the American people are tired. A survey from 2023 found that 7 out of 10 registered voters believe that men have one unfair advantage Over women when competing against each other in athletics. It also found that a majority of registered voters do not think that public schools in their area should enable men to participate in women’s sports. The Wall Street Journal stated the “progressive transgender coercion”, especially in terms of sports, was the sleeping issue of election in 2024.

Now we have a chance to save women’s sports and protect girls throughout America. I feel confident that Linda McMahon, President Donald Trump’s election to lead the Ministry of Education, will help lead that fee. She is a strong leader with the experience and values needed for the job. The most important thing is that she knows right from wrong and that men do not belong in women’s sports.

In Lockstep with President Trump, I believe that in Linda McMahon we will finally have an education secretary who will protect department IX and prioritize justice for all female athletes.

Public officials are responsible for fulfilling the wishes of the people who chose them, and Americans have overwhelmingly voted to protect women’s sports. I can’t wait for Linda McMahon to be confirmed, and I think parents and students across the country feel the same way.
