Former NBA Players react to 76ers Joel Embiid’s turnover of the late game

On Tuesday evening, Philadelphia 76ers found himself in a down-to-thread matchup with Toronto Raptors. Joel Embiid was with an opportunity to lift his team into a victory, but a last second mishap led to them getting short.

In the last moments of the game, Sixers were with the ball down two. The ball was swung to a wide open Embiid at the top of the key with about 10 seconds left. But the previous MVP did not stop letting the shot fly. Embiid tried to work his way into the track, where he was met by a handful of Raptors defender. He caught in traffic and lost control of the ball and Gradu Dick ended up with a steal. Toronto continued to score on a quick break and officially removed Sixers.

After this game, Chandler Parsons and the rest of Run it back Show discussed Embi’s turnover Wednesday. The former NBA -forward spoke against the Sixers star’s decision -making and stated that he should have only taken the open shot.

“I would love him just to shoot this ball, he’s wide open,” Parsons said. “You’re down at two, win the game … You won’t get a much better look than that. It’s just a bad decision. Obviously you don’t want to see a turnover there.”

Despite its late turnover, Embiid was a big reason why Sixers was within reach of a victory in the first place. He logged 38 minutes in the loss 106-103 and ended with a state line of 27 points, 12 returns and four assists.

This was a crushing defeat for Sixers, as they are struggling to get into the playoffs in the Easter Conference. In front of the All-Star break, Philly is within two matches from a place in Play-in. That said, they have to put together a strong last month in the schedule if they will slave this season.
