Residents of the Ukrainian front line city Zaporizhzhia are worried that Donald Trump’s plans to end the war amount to a store against Ukraine.

“There is a lot of talk about Trump who betrays Ukraine, and it looks very bad for us,” says Oleksandr Bezedinov, whom I went to school, says. “You can try to find positive, but what it looks like in the news is disastrous. I don’t see what Trump will achieve if that’s how it ends. Selling Ukraine is no performance. “

Viktoria Mochalova, a psychologist from Zaporizhzhia, is suspicious of any businesses that the United States and Russian presidents can beat.

“If it is true that agreements are made between Trump and Putin, it means we have been sold out. I am worried that Trump is so obviously contemptible against international law. Putin is a criminal, she says.

But Anna Holovchenko, an IT specialist in Zaporizhzhia, is more hopeful: “He is all the mouth and no pants. His words do not always translate into actions. (What he said) is not a nice thing to hear, but that’s how he is.

“We just have to live and see. Public statements and international politics are two different things.”
