Curtis Jones clarifies Eden Hazard-Mo Salah comments – ‘The one I’d rather have’ – Liverpool FC

If you are tired of Mo Salah and Eden Hazard comparisons you are not alone, and Curtis Jones made sure to clarify where he stands following comments he made to Rio Ferdinand.

No matter how many records Salah breaks and the incredible number of goals and assists he has, there will always be a comparison to Hazard and his skill.

The two are undoubtedly among the best footballers to reach Premier League and that is why a debate on the subject is never too far away.

We all know where we stand on the issue!

However, Jones disturbed the hive when he spoke to TNT SportsFerdinand about which players he liked to watch, and he knew he would attract attention by dropping Hazard’s name.

“My and I know this might stick with our fans a bit because the comparison is always there, but (Eden) Hazard,” Jones said.

“Hazard is the one, I know we compare to Mo all the time, and I’ve been on it with Mo.

“As a player from who I have watched as a child, when I loved and studied the game and I wanted to be like a player, I feel it was Hazard.

“He was the one that every game I saw him I was just like, ‘Wow, that’s football.’

You certainly can’t blame Jones for his choice of role models, Hazard’s brilliance on the ball made him unplayable – but that doesn’t mean Liverpool’s No.17 would choose him over Salah.

After his comments made their way to social media, Jones took action X to post a new selfie with Salah and the caption: “The one I’d rather have on my team.”

Is right! We would have the player who has scored 175 goals in 284 Premier League appearances over it with 85 at 245 as well.

Feeling that Jones had already stirred the pot, Ferdinand asked if he would rather see Hazard than Gerrard. It got the response you’d expect.

“Nah, because I can’t hear a bad word about him,” Jones said of Gerrard, his former Under-18s coach. “If I could be like a player overall, it would be him.

“I feel we play a different way but if I could have what he has in terms of his pressing, tackling and then the back then he could pull the team with him and be the number one in his team.

Plus he’s a Scouser and made the team his own, stuff like that. And that’s the other side of the game that I want.”
