China artist, whose collectors include Bill Gates, apologizes to Belgian comrades for plagiarism

Chinese artist Ye Yonqging, whose work is collected by those like Bill Gates and Rupert Murdoch, has to apologize for Beijing’s intellectual property rights and asks for a decisive for a 2023 that ordered him to pay the Belgian artist Christian Silvain 5 million Yuan (690 000 US $) and apologize for plagiarism.

Silvain, 75, accused YE, 67, to plagiarize 87 works by Hans over the past 25 years, 2019.

The Belgian artist found out if the plagiarism after a gallery owner in Amsterdam told him that he had seen a “substandard” version of one of his paintings.

He was then told that another similar work was exhibited in London in “The biggest exhibition of Chinese art”.
