Princess Sofia of Sweden welcomes the fourth child, first girl

Princess Sofia Of Sweden, a mother is now four – and after three sons, a girl mom!

The Swedish royal family announced Princess Sofia, 40 and Prince Carl Philip, 45, welcomed his fourth child on February 7. After three sons – Prince Alexander8 Prince Gabriel7 and Prince Julian3 – The new child is the couple’s first daughter.

“Today, Friday, February 7 at 13.10, HRH Princess Sofia gave birth to a daughter at Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm,” announcement on the royal family’s website Said, split the child weighed 8 kg and measured 19 inches long.

Although a name has not been immediately revealed, the child will have a princess title. She will join in the line of inheritance as eighth in line with the throne behind her brothers.

The couple announced Sofia’s pregnancy on September 2 and told the public that their fourth child would be due in February.

A Statement shared by the Swedish royal household Read, “Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are very pleased to announce that the princess expects the couple’s fourth child.”

The statement also said that Sofia “performs well” and that the child was expected in February 2025. The announcement was accompanied by a new photo of the couple in front of a picturesque lake.

Prince Carl Philip is fourth in line with the Swedish throne, the only son and the other child King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. In 2019, the palace announced that the children of Prince Carl Philip, as well as the children of Carl Philips younger sister Princess Madeleinewould No longer hold HRH titles. Carl Philips older sister, Crown Princess VictoriaIs the heir to the Swedish throne, and her children therefore have royal titles.

Although Prince Julian was not born at that time, the change affected his older brothers Prince Alexander and Prince Gabriel. When Prince Julian was born, he was the first of the King Carl XVI Gustaf’s grandson born without the HRH title.

Prince Carl Philip said he saw the decision as “positive” for his children and added that it would enable his children to “have freer choices in life.”

“They will keep their Prince titles and their Dukes, Södermanland and Dalarna, which we value and are proud of,” he added. “Our family has strong connections to both landscapes and we maintain our commitment there.”

While Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia’s children retained their Prince titles, the styling became personal, and any future spouses or children will not be entitled to them. Nor will they be expected to perform official royal tasks one day.

Carl Philip and Sofia got married in June 2015 and Sofia became a princess in her marriage. The couple works both Royals – and now, in addition, a family of sex.
