Police are arrested over alleged firearm suspension and bomb Hoax after “challenging” operation in Sheffield | British news

The police have made a gripping after a man barricaded in an apartment in Sheffield is alleged to have had weapons.

Officials were first called to a block of apartments in Broad Street at about 7 pm on Monday to deal with a man who is said to be “a risk to himself”.

Residents were evacuated and spent Monday night at a sports center, while nearby main roads were closed.

These roads, including Sheffield Parkway – one of the most important roads from the center to the M1 motorway – has now been reopened and public transport has been resumed when police reduced their cordon overnight on Tuesday, on Wednesday.

But the building remains closed and the residents are still evacuated and cannot return to their properties.

A statement from the South Yorkshire Police said on Wednesday: “On Monday, shortly after 19:00, we responded to concern for a man in a property on Broad Street, was alleged to have weapons and pose a risk to himself.

“Today, a 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of violation, criminal injury, possession of a firearm, threat to kill and communicate with a bombhax. He remains in police repository at this time.

“We want to thank those who have been affected for their continued support while rescue services perform their work. Your support is greatly appreciated.

“An additional update will be provided when the building is reopened.”

The power previously described the operation as “challenging”.

The Sheffield star reported that thousands of commuters were hit by road closures on Tuesday morning, with a few spent three hours trying to work.
