The House Education Committee to hear a number of curriculum bills Wednesday

Bismarck, ND (Kfyr) – A number of house bills were introduced Wednesday to add a new necessary curriculum to North Dakota schools.

House Bill 1527 requires Holocaust training to be integrated into the American history plan. Subjects include causes, consequences, history and connection to the increase in the Third Reich in Germany before World War II.

House Bill 1533 adds a semester of financial literacy required for high school.

House Bill 1536 provides the Department of Public Instruction by up to $ 1.5 million to develop a curriculum for the history of the Indians and work with the tribes to do so.

Finally, House Bill 1569 would add sex trafficking awareness and preventive instruction to students in medium and colleges. The bill states that the curriculum must include information that helps students recognize the signs and information on how to report potential incidents.

The house will vote for these bills at a later date.
