Lifests plastic shoe stolen from yorkshire farm

A farmer has appealed for the return of a lifestyle plastic cow that he said was “very elegant” stolen from his field in Yorkshire.

It is believed that the cattle’s lookalike – which is said to have mistaken for a real cow – was stolen from a field near Harrogate sometime for two weeks until January 28.

Although he is described as “exceptionally difficult to remove” because of its “heavy, solid plastic structure,” said the farmer that he assumed that the guilty would probably be “drunk children who have done it too little laughter”.

Still, in comments to the BBC, the farmer – who has chosen to remain anonymous – said that he thought it must have taken at least three men to free the large farm’s imposts.

“I don’t know how they would have stolen it,” he said.

“They must have had a van or a roof rack or something – you can imagine all kinds of funny pictures with a cow on top of a roof rack.”

While his appeal has been reinforced by the North Yorkshire Police, the farmer praised the guilty and said, “There is no harm to the fence or anything, so they have made it very elegant.”

“I would rather steal a plastic cow than committing a serious crime,” he added.

The ornamental cattle seems to have left the village of Kirkby’s bleeding in the same spirit where it arrived.

“I bought it just for some laughter,” its owner told the BBC. “It was just a stupid, fun thing to get people in the village to smile.”

After buying a plastic cow for about £ 700, the farmer said that its early days on his farm was spent next to a hawthorn bush, which caused passersby to knock on his door to warn him that a real cow got stuck.

The farmer seemed hopeful to a reunion and said, however, that he continued to expect KO to show up on Stray, a public park in Harrogate or “at a bus stop somewhere”.

A spokesman for the North Yorkshire Police said: “We appeal for information for theft in Kirby Overblow, near Harrogate.

“Between Tuesday, January 14 and Tuesday, January 28, 2025, a lifestic plastic cow from a field in the area stated. The cow is a heavy, solid plastic structure, which makes it exceptionally difficult to remove.

“We would especially appreciate all observations of this” moooving “cow … and all the details that can help us return it to its rightful owner.”
