A quick check confirmed the police’s suspicions about the van

A van was seized by police after they said it was found to be fitted with fake number plates. North West Motorway Police shared the details on social media and said the white van was stopped on the afternoon of Saturday November 2 on suspicion of being a clone.

Checking the chassis number revealed that the vehicle was indeed stolen. They reported that the driver had admitted to putting false plates on the van.


In their update on social media, North West Motorway Police said: “This van was stopped as a possible clone, after checking the chassis number of the vehicle which was found to be stolen.”

They added: “The driver admitted putting false plates on the vehicle, arrested for handling stolen goods, fraudulent use of VRM plates and no insurance, vehicle impounded.” Lancs Live.
