“Suspicious incident” involving detained person and fleeing vehicle under police investigation in Mississauga

UPDATE: Peel Regional Police thanked the public for their help and provided an update on the “suspicious incident”, saying it has been resolved. However, details about the nature of the incident were not disclosed.


There is growing concern for the well-being of an unidentified person after security footage shows them strapped in near two vehicles that later fled the scene in Mississauga on Saturday night.

Shortly after 9:45 p.m., Peel Regional Police officers responded to reports of a “suspicious incident” near Traders Boulevard East and Hurontario Street.

Police say security footage that captured the incident shows a person who appears to be restrained along with a dark-colored sedan and an orange SUV.

After some time, both vehicles are said to have left the area in an unknown direction.

Investigators are particularly concerned about the well-being of the individual shown in the images and are trying to identify those involved.

If this incident is a joke, the police call on those responsible to come forward and clarify the situation.
