Concourt to hear the application to stop the extradition of Iain Wares to UK

Cape Town – The Constitutional Court will hear on Thursday an application to stop the extradition of a former South African teacher accused of sexual abuse in the UK.

Last year, Justice Minister Thamb Simelane Iain Ware’s extradition to Scotland approved to meet allegations of sexual abuse.

Western Cape High Court also approved the extradition.

Eighty -year goods have contacted the Constitutional Court to try to reverse a high court decision granting its extradition to Scotland to meet three of the seven charges that arose in South Africa.

He is accused by sexual and physical abuse of boys during his time as a teacher in Scotland in the 60s and 70s.

Wares is also facing similar accusations in South Africa and he is at trial at Wynberg Magistrates Court.

Britain’s authorities first applied for Ware’s extradition in 2018, which led to his arrest 2019 on allegations of libidinous, difficult and unfair practice and behavior.

The South African Ministry of Justice has stated that it will oppose all attempts from goods to appeal his extradition.
