The original Annabelle in the real Warren cases was actually a soft, handmade style Raggedy Anndock with a sweet triangular nose, rosy cheeks and light red yarn hair. She didn’t look scary at all. Sometimes she shows up in unexpected places or gradually turns on her head. Director James Wan masterfully creates the slow burning horror that makes the audience careful about what she will do next.

When you see her, you know that something scary is just around the corner – whether it is a demon, someone’s death or the unhealthy look of the awful nun.
