New York Jets to cut Aaron Rodgers from the team after a disappointment season

New York Jets are divided from Aaron Rodgers.

On Thursday 13 February, The organization announced That they met the 41-year-old Quarterbacken and informed him that they will “move forward without him” next season.

In a statement, head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Muey said: “Last week we met Aaron and shared that our intention was to move in a different direction at Quarterback.”

“It was important to have this discussion now to give clarity and enable each of us to plan for our respective future,” the statement continued. “We want to thank him for the leadership, passion and commitment he brought to the organization and wish him success to move forward.”

Rodgers joined Jets after he traded from Packers in April 2023. In his first game with the team, Quarterbacken suffered a broken Achilles -sen It took him out throughout the season, much to the disappointment for the team’s fans.

Rodgers recovered and started in every match for Jets during the 2024 season with unfortunate results, ended 5-13 and missed the playoffs.

Jets chairman Woody Johnson said he wanted to “personally” thank Rodgers for his time with the organization. Johnson said Rodgers arrival in 2023 was “met with unbroken excitement” and said that he will “forever be grateful” for Rodgers for joining the team.

“From the first day, he embodied everything that meant to be a New York jet, embraced our fans and immersed himself in our city,” Johnson continued in his statement.

“That’s what I will remember most when I look back at his time here. He will always be welcome, and I wish him just the best in what he chooses to do next,” Johnson said.

Despite the disappointing results of his two seasons, the team, Rodgers said in January that his time with Jets had been “the best two years of my life”, according to Associated Press.

Rodgers acknowledged Jets’ unfortunate record in the last NFL season and said: “Of course, I wish things would have been better in the field.”

“But nothing but gratitude for this time in my life,” he added. “It has been a fantastic experience all around, and again I am disappointed with the performance for both myself and as a team, but really grateful for the opportunity.”
